Day 3: Elegant Aix-En-Provence

After a discouraging breakfast at the Best Western in Annecy, misterpiggy was happy to reboard the bus for the trip to Aix-En-Provence via the French Alps.  Luckily he had the back seat all to himself today and he made the most of it taking many pictures of the beautiful mountain landscape from the back window of the bus.  The back windows were dirty, hence the spots on some of misterpiggys pictures.  Sorry about that!

The bus stopped for lunch near Grenoble. Misterpiggy saw some snow capped the mountains from the roadside eating area. It was cold enough to turn misterpiggy into a frozen porkchop.

Finally out of the cold gray mountains, the tour bus emerged into the blue and sunny skies and continued it's scenic drive until it approached the beautful Aix-En-Provence, home to painter Paul Cezanne, with it's fountain, carousel and tree lined boulevard.

Yay, sunny again!

Following a brief stop at the Escale Oceana hotel, Marc and Marie drove the tour group into town and free time was given to see the antique market, visit some of the shops in the narrow alleyways off the grand boulevard and just bask in the warm sun.

Lots of the shops were closed because it was Easter Sunday, but you could still get a yummy crepe with nutella to eat.

Afterwards, back to the hotel for a nice inclusive dinner and early bedtime for misterpiggy.
